GTFlyfishing has found a perfect place to fish Bonefish on Andros Island. Ever since 1948, Bonefish have been fished on Andros and the population is famous for its many large specimens over 10 pounds. Here you really have the opportunity to get in contact with larger Bones with expert guides who know how to outsmart them. There is no doubt that the population of larger fish on the Andros is optimal compared to Mexico and Cuba.

We will be fishing and staying at the Lodge on the northern part of Andros Island. Bonefish Capital Of the World. Here you will be fishing for 6 days with guides on Skiffs (boats) in a huge area of ​​flats. There is nowhere else, you will find so many endless flats, deep canals, grass flats, creeks etc.

The area around The North Bight is the tongue of the deep Ocean, referred to as the Bonefish highway. Here are the ideal conditions for getting contact with pure monsters of Bonefish. In addition to Bonefish, there are plenty of other species of fish such as large Permits, Tarpon, Barracuda, Jack Trevalle, Mutton Snapper etc. in the shallow water.

If you take a small trip further out to sea, there are opportunities for contact with Tuna, Mahi Mahi and Wahoo. In other words, you are in a real saltwater paradise!

Our fishing is for both the beginner and the experienced fisherman, as you can choose your own strategy. It is possible to book your own boat and fish alone (at extra cost) if you want to go all in. The goal of the fishing is simple, namely to get in contact with as many Bonefish as possible, by wading on foot and spotting  tailing Bonefish or chasing the big ones with our experienced guides, it is all lined up for our individual ambitions for the trip.

We have access to skilled guides whom we will be fishing with, and our gear will be 7/8/9 weight rods with 150 yds 20 lbs backing or 30 pounds gel spun backing as we recommend. In addition, Tarpon equipment with 9-12 weight rods with powerful saltwater reels, and 80 lb leader tipped. In some months there are also King size Permit which can be taken with class 10 gear and lots of backing on the reels.

We will stay at the lodge and enjoy our host’s delicacies, primarily local products such as lobster, shrimp, fish and other seafood. We will be well taken care of in our small cozy Lodge, where flies can be tied in the evening with a drink on the table.

If you are a group of both fly fishers and spin fishers, we can adjust the fishing for all. But as a starting point, the trips are intended for fly fishermen.

On our way home we have two nights in Miami, we will fly to Florida with domestic flights. We have booked 2 nights with breakfast at the Miami Beach, one of the USA’s most iconic areas, where we will go out and eat some “motherfucker” steaks, and drink as well, we will have time to visit South Beach and experience some of the beautiful art deco buildings. And experience unique American culture on the way home.

The season runs from October to June, but you can fish all year round.

There are four to six participants per trip.
